Our Aim: Establishing a Firefighters Museum in La Réunion and the Indian Ocean

We are excited for you to soon explore the rich cultural and historical legacy of La Réunion’s and the Indian Ocean’s firefighters. Join us on an enlightening journey from the early days of firefighting to the sophisticated methods used today.

Highlight: The 1940s Laffly Vehicle

A centerpiece of our exhibit is the Laffly, a significant vehicle showcasing the development and history of La Réunion’s firefighters.

Our Goals

  1. To preserve and display the Laffly vehicle.
  2. To set up an area focusing on the history of firefighters in La Réunion and the Indian Ocean.
  3. To support scholarly research in rescue operations and firefighting.
  4. To promote awareness of conserving natural heritage, particularly forests.
  5. To work with both local and international groups to enhance our collection.
